Sierra Plese

A graduate of the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, Sierra joined the Designsensory team as an intern, then freelancer, and was soon offered a full-time position (we just couldn’t let her go). While in school, Sierra developed strengths in typography, text layout and all-around print work through her time at the University of Tennessee Press.

She’s even designed a few books, cover to cover. As an avid reader from an early age, Sierra has literally always judged a book by its cover, understanding that design is one of the key ways ideas are spread and communicated. Alongside a good book—she likes sci-fi and fantasy novels—Sierra also appreciates Miyazaki films and true-crime podcasts.

In her time at Designsensory, Sierra wants to discover what kind of designer she’s going to be. She’s quick to try new approaches and styles, even if that means she has to learn something brand new to get it done.
