Kit Parker

Kit Parker is a Professor of Bioengineering and Applied Physics at Harvard University, where they direct an interdisciplinary research group focused on pediatric disease and materials science. Kit also serves as a founding editor-in-chief for Biophysics Reviews at the American Institute of Physics. In addition to their academic work, Kit has a long career in the United States Army, where they have served as an officer in various capacities since 1992, including deployments to Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne Division and the 10th Mountain Division. Kit is also involved in several other ventures, including serving as an advisor for Supermoon Capital, co-founding Tender Food, and co-founding Desora. Furthermore, Kit is the Principal and Founder of KK Parker & Associates, a consulting practice that applies adaptive learning techniques and leadership development principles to organizations, drawing on their military experience.

Kit Parker's education history begins with a Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Boston University, which they obtained from 1984 to 1989. Kit then pursued a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at Vanderbilt University from 1989 to 1993, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biological and Applied Physics at the same institution from 1993 to 1998. After completing their doctoral studies, Kit Parker joined Harvard Medical School from 1998 to 2001 as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Children's Hospital, focusing on Pathology. Kit then attended The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine for a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Biomedical Engineering from 2001 to 2002.
