Pekka Lammassaari

Pekka Lammassaari has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Starting in 1989, they worked as a Development and Site Director at Rakennus-Silta Oy, where they were responsible for managing construction sites and ensuring company success. In 1997, they joined Nokia and took on various roles such as Team Lead, Project Manager, and Senior Management, leading projects and overseeing technology evolution. From 1999 to 2004, they served as a Lecturer at Oulu University of Applied Sciences, where they taught software development. In 2013, they joined OSEKK as a Lecturer, focusing on simulator-based education and training, as well as mining education and company relations. From 2017 to 2018, they worked as an Associate at a startup company. Currently, they are employed at Destia Oy, where they started in 2018 as a Development Manager before becoming the Head of R&D in 2021. In this role, they are responsible for AI-based solutions, data analytics, and integrating AI and machine learning technologies into business processes.

Pekka Lammassaari has a Diploma in Artificial Intelligence from Aalto University, obtained in 2020. Additionally, they hold a Master's degree in Information Technology from the University of Oulu and two Bachelor's degrees, one in Information Technology and one in Civil Engineering, both from Oulu University of Applied Sciences. In 2015, they became a qualified Lecture at Oulu University of Applied Sciences. Prior to their higher education, Pekka graduated from Ellsworth High School and Lassinkallio High School in Finland. Pekka also holds certifications as a Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO®) and a Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) from Scrum Alliance, obtained in 2013.
