Kari de Villiers

Kari de Villiers is an experienced industrial designer currently working at DetNet South Africa (Pty) Ltd since August 2022. Previous roles include industrial designer at POP2Position (Pty) Ltd for six months in early 2022, and junior industrial designer at Regent Lighting Solutions from June 2020 to January 2022, where involvement in local manufacturing and customer-specific lighting designs was a key aspect of the role. Kari also served as a product designer for Reaboka Foundation Non-Profit Company from January 2018 to October 2019, focusing on empowering women in rural areas through the creation of marketable beaded and sewn products. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Design, specializing in Industrial Design from the University of Johannesburg, complemented by a BA Honours in Industrial and Product Design and a Bachelor of Arts in the same field, all attained between 2014 and 2020. Early education was completed at Hoërskool Outeniqua, culminating in matric in 2011.
