Mary Sclabassi

Mary Sclabassi is the Director of Security & Safety at Detroit Country Day School, where responsibilities include overseeing all security initiatives and ensuring the safety of K-12 campuses. In this role, Sclabassi has established COVID response protocols as Co-Chairperson of the Health & Safety Subgroup and has a strong background in law enforcement, having served as a Special Agent in the Michigan Attorney General's Office and Chief of Police for the City of Taylor, directing a police department and managing various operations. Additional experience includes teaching at Eastern Michigan University and being a Task Force Officer with the Drug Enforcement Administration. Sclabassi holds a Master's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Detroit Mercy and a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts from Wayne State University.
