Nick D.

Nick D. has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Their most recent position was as the Director of Talent and Culture at the Detroit Institute of Arts, where they were responsible for driving the organization-wide learning and development strategy. Prior to that, they held the role of Learning and Development Manager at the same institution, where they partnered with museum leadership to develop refreshed values and implemented training programs. Before joining the Detroit Institute of Arts, Nick worked at the Ruth Ellis Center as a Human Resources Director, overseeing HR strategy and development. Nick also worked at LAAVU as a Business Services Consultant, handling accounts payable and receivable, and at Ponyride as an Office Manager and Personal Assistant, responsible for administrative functions and project management. In addition, Nick has experience in architecture, having worked as an Architectural Intern at the Detroit Collaborative Design Center and the University of Detroit Mercy. Overall, Nick has a strong background in talent management, HR, and administrative roles, with a focus on learning and development.

Nick D. obtained their Masters degree in Architecture from the University of Detroit Mercy, where they studied from 2006 to 2011. In addition to their formal education, they have pursued various certifications over the years. In January 2016, Nick became a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) through the Society for Human Resource Management. Later, in May 2021, they obtained a certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education. Nick further expanded their expertise by becoming a National Diversity Council Certified Diversity Professional in October 2022. Most recently, they obtained certification as a Crucial Conversations for Mastering Dialogue Certified Trainer in December 2022 from Crucial Learning.
