Matthew Brenner is currently the Senior Director of Finance for the Detroit Lions. Prior to that, they worked as an Audit Senior Associate for PwC from January 2013 to February 2016. In that role, they assisted in developing audit strategy and audit plans, project managed and coordinated day-to-day supervision and execution of tailored audit plans, set examples of professional behavior, coached team members and timely addressed escalated issues throughout the engagement. Matthew also performed technical guidance research, detail review working papers and monitored team budget. Matthew prepared financial statements, audit reports and client communications.
Before their time at PwC, Matthew was a Graduate Assistant at Grand Valley State University from January 2012 to April 2012. As an assistant to accounting professors, they researched and analyzed data in order to help them prepare for their published works. Further, they tutored undergraduate level accounting students in financial, managerial and intermediate accounting classes.
Matthew’s first internship was with Meijer as a Pricing Intern from September 2010 to December 2010. After that, they served as the Secretary for Sigma Pi Fraternity, Theta Rho Chapter from January 2010 to December 2010.
Matthew Brenner has a Master of Science in Accounting from Grand Valley State University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Accounting & Finance also from Grand Valley State University. Matthew is also a Certified Public Accountant.
