Andre Johnson is currently the President/CEO of [Detroit Recovery Project](/org/detroit-recovery-project), a position they have held since the organization's inception. Prior to that, they were employed by the [Detroit Recovery Project](/org/detroit-recovery-project) as a counselor and case manager.

After completing a B.A. in Psychology at [Morehouse College](/org/morehouse-college), Andre Johnson went on to earn a Master's degree in Organizational Leadership from the [University of Phoenix](/org/university-of-phoenix-inc). Andre then completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Clinical Psychology at the Michigan School of Psychology.

Some direct reports include Latrecia Moner - Executive Assistant, Dr. Kanzoni Asabigi - VP of Operations. Andre Johnson reports to Board of Directors, Unknown role.

Nicole Pier is a Staff Accountant at [Detroit Recovery Project](/org/detroit-recovery-project). Nicole has previous experience working as an accountant and payment analyst. Nicole has also worked as a personal banker and member service representative.

Nicole Pier graduated from [Eastern Michigan University](/org/eastern-michigan-university) with a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance.

Their manager is Kau Gofan, CFO. Some of their coworkers include LaDonna Jackson - Accounting Clerk 50% FTE October 2007.

After serving as a Catholic priest for seven years in the Detroit archdiocese, John Andrews has worked for the past forty years in various administrative capacities in the mental health/substance use disorder field. He spent two years with the Detroit Health Department’s drug treatment program and spent five years in the Bureau of Substance Abuse, the [City of Detroit](/org/city-of-detroit) substance abuse coordinating agency. Then followed a two year stint as Assistant Director of the Wayne County Department of Substance Abuse Services.

In 1980, John accepted an invitation to join Eastwood Clinics as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He remained with Eastwood for 24 years, the last 12 as Executive Director. During John’s time with Eastwood Clinics, the organization grew into one of the largest mental health/substance use disorder treatment providers in southeast Michigan. During his tenure, Eastwood also became a subsidiary entity within St. John Health System.

As a comprehensive network of outpatient and residential treatment facilities, Eastwood developed into a preferred provider for both the public funding agencies and the private insurance industry, including their managed care affiliates.  John’s  appreciation for the opportunity to work in this field has been deepened by his personal passion as a recovering alcoholic. In February, 2010, John was blessed to celebrate 19 years of sobriety.

John retired from Eastwood Clinics in 2004. Since that time he has been working part-time for the Michigan Association of Substance Abuse Coordinating Agencies. John and his wife, Chris, enjoy the pleasures of retirement with their two adult sons, a wonderful daughter-in-law and two heart-stealing granddaughters, Madeleine and Charlotte.

Charles Christian Adams earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from [Wayne State University](/org/wayne-state-university).  He went on to earn the Master of Divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary in New York City.  While there, Rev. Adams served as the Youth and Young Adult Minister for the Bronx Christian Fellowship Church, Bronx, New York under the Pastorate of Dr. Suzan Johnson Cook.  Both Dr. Cook and Rev. Adams comforted and counseled many in the Wall Street area in the immediate aftermath of ‘9ll’.  In addition, he was Program Coordinator for the Office of the University Chaplain at [Columbia University](/org/columbia-university) in New York.

Rev. Charles Christian Adams currently serves as the Presiding Pastor of Hartford Memorial Baptist Church, where he was ordained under the Pastorate of his father, Dr. Charles G. Adams.  In addition to his preaching and teaching ministry at Hartford, Rev. Adams has traveled the world, ministering in Geneva, Switzerland for the World Council of Churches, Harare, Zimbabwe for the Baptist World Alliance Youth Conference and Johannesburg, South Africa for the American Baptist Churches.  He has preached throughout the United States, Europe and Africa.  Rev. Adams has also conducted several drug and alcohol abuse seminars at juvenile detention facilities, drug rehabilitation centers, elementary and high schools.

Among the his many ministries at Hartford are the Tuesday Night Men’s Bible Study and the “Saturday Nite Live” contemporary “come as your are” worship service, that attracts many who appreciate a more relaxed and intimate service.

Rev. Adams is a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society, a lifetime member of the [NAACP](/org/naacp) and is on the Trustee Board of the Sunshine Community School in Detroit, Michigan.  He has specialized in outreach ministries related to drug and alcohol addiction, sitting on the Board of Directors for the [Detroit Recovery Project](/org/detroit-recovery-project) and counseling at Emmanuel House Recovery Center.

Rev. Charles Christian Adams is the father of Charles Edward, and Madison Elizabeth and is married to Mrs. Maria Lauren Adams.

Curtis Kevin Johnson is a man of faith who is a loving considerate husband and father of four. He is a graduate of [Detroit Public Schools](/org/detroit-public-schools) where he met his wife Shauna whom he has been married to for over 25 years. Shauna is a graduate of Cass Technical High School and is registered nurse by trade and entrepreneur who owns an Allstate Insurance Agency located in Detroit’s Rosedale Park Area.

Mr. Johnson is a graduate of [Morehouse College](/org/morehouse-college) and has received secondary degrees for [Wayne State University](/org/wayne-state-university) (MBA 1995) & [Bryant University](/org/bryant-university) (CFP 2016).

Curtis pass work experience includes but is not limited to working with Chrysler Financial as a Branch Manager Trainee, A Commissioned Bank Examiner with Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Comptroller of Home Federal Savings Bank, Radio talk show host on WHPR and 1440, and the first Allstate Exclusive Agent to open an office in the City of Detroit.

Curtis currently owns a UPS Store located on Grand River in Rosedale Park and Johnson Family Agency. Johnson Family Agency is full service independent insurance agency that offers personal and commercial auto and property insurance. He is also a license builder who is President of Inner City Builders and Inner City Contracting.

Curtis is a proud Board Member of Campbell Academic Services/Aces Program and past President of Christmas in April Detroit Chapter and Grandmont Rosedale Business Association.

Walter Reginald Mills “Reggie” was appointed to one of the highest level of leaderships for the UAW as a UAW International Representative in June 2008. Mr. Mills previously served terms as an Elected UAW Bargaining Representative, Elected UAW Local 600 Executive Board Member (Trustee) and UAW Elected Committee Member from April 2002 – June 2008.

Mr. Mills gained his first leadership role as an International Representative at the UAW as a UAW-Ford Quality Representative and UAW-Ford Coordinator of Special Projects from June 2008 to Feb 2015. In February 2015 Mr. Mills was assigned to the UAW-Ford ESSP (Employee Support Services Program)/EAP (Employee Assistance Program) & Wellbeing Program as Coordinator where he currently serves for the UAW-Ford workforce.

Mr. Mills brings his own personal life experiences and knowledge assisting others in living a healthier lifestyle. Mr. Mills and his Team, with direction from their Executive Leadership, achieve this with the concept of focusing on the “Whole You”.

Mr. Mills begin his journey with the UAW as an assembler in May 1993 when he was hired at the Dearborn Assembly Plant for Ford Motor Company.

In November 16, 1996 Mr. Mills begin his Recovery journey at SHAR House where he is now in his 24th year living a Clean and Sober Life.
Currently Mr. Mills is a Mentor for the Midnight Golf Program (Sept 2014 – present), serves as a CERT Officer for the Wayne County Sheriff Office (2013 – present) and continues to serve and volunteer his time to numerous Community Activities throughout the Wayne County area.

Walter Reggie

State Rep. Tenisha Yancey represents the First House District, which is comprised of the cities of Grosse Pointe Woods, Harper Woods, and parts of the Village of Grosse Pointe Shores and Detroit. Yancey was born and raised on the eastside of Detroit, the youngest of three children. Her mother worked in the [General Motors](/org/general-motors) plant in Poletown, and her father was a bus driver for the Detroit Department of Transportation. At a young age, Yancey became the caretaker for her mother, who had suffered two strokes, after her father was killed in an accident caused by a drunk driver.

Yancey graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree from [Eastern Michigan University](/org/eastern-michigan-university). While working full time for [Wayne County](/org/wayne-county-schools), she attended law school and graduated, receiving her law degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2013. Yancey worked as a project manager for the [Wayne County](/org/wayne-county-schools) Land Bank and as a government relations executive and community outreach program coordinator in the [Wayne County](/org/wayne-county-schools) Executive’s Office. She then transferred to the [Wayne County](/org/wayne-county-schools) Prosecutor’s Office, where she worked as an assistant prosecuting attorney in the Juvenile Division. In June 2016, she was appointed to the Harper Woods Board of Education and later elected to that position.

Yancey is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She is an active member of her community, speaking at school career fairs, churches and community meetings. Yancey is the mother of one son and lives in Harper Woods.

During his career he has focused on the pre- and post-retirement needs of individuals, families, and business owners, transforming the planning process into a positive experience, addressing issues such as investment guidance, insurance and goal analysis and financial planning.
