Jack Rummells

Biomechanist / Sport Scientist at Detroit Red Wings

Jack Rummells, PhD, CPSS, is a seasoned biomechanist and sport scientist currently serving as a Biomechanist and Performance Data Analyst for the Detroit Red Wings since October 2021. Previously, Jack held the position of Biomechanics Analyst Consultant at Driveline Baseball Enterprises, Inc., where responsibilities included managing biomechanics databases. Jack's academic journey culminated in a PhD in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from the University of Iowa, complemented by a Master's degree in Kinesiology and a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, both from the University of Northern Iowa. Earlier roles spanned personal training, strength and conditioning coaching, and notable experiences as a PhD Research Assistant at Virtual Soldier Research, where Jack developed biomechanics-based metrics for injury modeling. Additionally, Jack had a brief tenure as a professional football player with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
