Phil Osaer is a seasoned professional in hockey goaltending with extensive experience in scouting and development. Currently serving as the Head of Goaltending Scouting and Development for the Detroit Red Wings since July 2019, Osaer previously held the position of Goaltending Scout for the Tampa Bay Lightning, where responsibilities included identifying potential goaltenders for trades and drafts. From September 2015 to August 2018, Osaer managed goaltending initiatives for USA Hockey, overseeing a nationwide team aiming to support over 20,000 youth goaltenders. Previous roles include Director of Hockey Operations at Michigan State University and Assistant Hockey Coach for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, alongside a successful career as a professional goaltender spanning over a decade. Osaer holds a Master of Arts in Sports Studies from the University of Wales, Cardiff, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Ferris State University.
