George Davis has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. George is currently the Director of Security and Public Affairs at The Detroit Salt Company, where they oversee public affairs, government relations, community outreach, sustainable development initiatives, media relations, and corporate security.
In addition, they serve as the Facility Security Officer to the US Coast Guard for maritime operations. Prior to their current role, George worked as the Public Affairs and Public Safety Manager/ Facility Security Officer at The Detroit Salt Company.
George also has experience in the education sector, having served as the Head Football Coach and Defensive Coordinator-Junior Varsity at Cranbrook Schools.
Furthermore, they worked as an Emergency Manager and Public Affairs Director at the Safety and Technical Rescue Association of Michigan for twelve years.
George also gained experience as a Senior Project Management Consultant at the McMillion Group for three years.
Moreover, they have a background in public policy and administration, having held various roles at the City of Detroit. This included serving as a Legislative Public Policy Analyst in Public Safety and Public Affairs, Executive Assistant to the Mayor in Public Safety and Cultural Affairs, and Project Manager in Public Safety, Recreation, Arts, and the Environment.
Lastly, George started their career as a Project/Outreach Coordinator at the Black Caucus Foundation of Michigan.
George Davis PEM, FSO earned a Bachelor of General Studies degree in Political Science/Sociology from the University of Michigan in 1989. Additionally, they obtained a Master of Educational Policy, Foundations, and Administration degree from the same institution. George holds certifications as a Professional Emergency Manager from FEMA/Michigan State Police, as a Facility Security Officer from the US Coast Guard, and as a Weather Spotter/SKYWARN from the National Weather Service.
