Dr. Dirk Spiegel

Head Of "development Systems Fully Automated Driving" at Deutsche Bahn

Dr. Dirk Spiegel started their work experience in 2012 as a Visiting Student and completed their Master Thesis at Beijing Jiaotong University. In 2013, they joined TU Braunschweig as a Research Associate and worked there until 2017. In 2015, they also spent some time as a Visiting PhD Student at Stanford University. Since 2018, Dr. Spiegel has been working at Deutsche Bahn, where they started as a Technical Product Manager for Safe Train Localization. Currently, they hold the role of Head of "Development Systems Fully Automated Driving".

Dr. Dirk Spiegel began their education at FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences, where they pursued a Diplom (FH) in German-French Mechanical Engineering from 2005 to 2010. Dr. Dirk then went on to complete a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in German-French Mechanical Engineering at Université Paul Sabatier from 2009 to 2010. Dr. Spiegel furthered their education at Technische Universität Braunschweig, obtaining a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Industrial Engineering from 2010 to 2012. Finally, they successfully completed their doctoral studies at Technische Universität Braunschweig, earning a degree of Dr.-Ing. in Maschinenbau from 2013 to 2018.
