Tristan Sommerford

Tristan Sommerford is an experienced mining engineer with a career spanning over 17 years across various leadership roles in the mining industry. Currently serving as Group Principal Mining Engineer at DEVELOP since January 2023, Tristan has held significant positions including Underground Manager and Production Manager at Barrick Gold Corporation from December 2019 to January 2023. Prior experience includes roles at Entech Pty Ltd as Mining Engineer, Fortescue Metals Group and St Barbara Limited as Mine Planning Engineer, and earlier positions at GEMS, Newmont Mining Corporation, and Newcrest Mining, where the foundation of mining expertise was developed as a Graduate Mining Engineer.
