Dr. Sebastian Rhein

Dr. Sebastian Rhein is a Senior Project Specialist in Corporate and Supply Chain Sustainability at DFGE – Institute for Energy, Ecology and Economy since July 2023. Prior to this role, Dr. Rhein was a Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter at Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg from May 2018 to June 2023, focusing on topics such as circular economy transformations and consumer willingness to pay for circular measures. Additionally, experience includes a position as a Gastwissenschaftlerin at Fraunhofer-Institut für Mikrostruktur von Werkstoffen und Systemen, providing project support for plastics recycling from June 2018 to May 2019, and as a Referent für Öffentlichkeit & Nachhaltigkeit at Schwarz Produktion from August 2016 to April 2018, where responsibilities included strategic environmental analysis and political assessments related to sustainability. Dr. Rhein holds a doctoral degree in Economics and a Master of Science in Economics, both from The Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg.
