Lavanya Govindaraju

Lavanya Govindaraju is an experienced Assistant Scientist at Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI), skilled in developing interactive applications and enhancing AI-driven caption quality. Lavanya's academic work includes a master's thesis focused on an innovative data augmentation technique that combines computer vision and natural language processing, resulting in significant improvements in semantic coherence. Previous roles include a Data Science Intern at Freudenberg Group, where Lavanya developed an OCR model to optimize invoice data extraction, and a Research Assistant at CISPA Helmholtz Center, contributing to data generation for security simulations. Lavanya holds a Master’s degree in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence from Universität des Saarlandes and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering from Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology.
