John McCalla

VP Engineering at Dialogue

John McCalla has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. John has worked as a VP of Engineering at Dialogue since September 2018. Prior to that, they worked at Autodesk as a Principal Software Developer from October 2014 to January 2018. John was a founding developer and technical lead on the Revit Live service. Before that, they were Vice-President of Research & Development at LVL Studio, where they built and launched a second screen platform called Purple. John also worked as an Independent Contractor, focusing on Node.js web application development from October 2010 to January 2012. John co-founded Bluestreak Technology and served as the CTO from April 2002 to December 2010, leading the software architecture and product definition. Prior to that, they were a Software Architect at ZAQ - Interactive Television Solutions, where they played a key role in the asset purchase of the ITV business. John started their career at Matrox as a Software Design Leader, where they designed and productized imaging software. Before that, they commercialized a shareware application called MDesk for OS/2 while studying at McGill University.

John McCalla earned a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from McGill University, where they studied from 1993 to 1996.
