Postdoctoral Research Associate at DIAMOND LIGHT SOURCE LIMITED

Alex Louat, PhD, is a highly accomplished researcher and technology leader with extensive expertise in condensed matter and materials physics. Currently serving as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Diamond Light Source, Alex focuses on the electronic properties of various materials utilizing advanced techniques like angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) and ab-initio calculations. As Chief Technology Officer at Neomatician since November 2023, Alex is poised to leverage academic insights in a technological context. Previous experience includes a postdoctoral role at Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, where research centered on superconductivity and the experimental observation of charge-carrying vortices, as well as doctoral research at the Centre national de la recherche scientifique, investigating the electronic behaviors of iridium-containing perovskite compounds. Alex also contributed to academia as a science teacher at IUT d'Orsay, instructing students in metrology and measurement techniques.
