Dirk Backes

Dirk Backes is a seasoned physicist currently serving as a Senior Beamline Scientist at Diamond Light Source since August 2019. With a robust academic background, Dirk holds a Doktor degree in Physics from the University of Konstanz (2004-2008) and a Diplom in Physics from RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau (1999-2004). Dirk's career includes positions as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at New York University (2010-January 2014), a Lecturer at Loughborough University (September 2016-August 2019), and a Visiting Scientist at the University of Cambridge since March 2014. Additionally, Dirk has worked as a Consultant at AWK Group (2008-2010) and was a PhD student at Paul Scherrer Institut (2004-2008).
