Seng Fatt Liew

Chief Engineer Of Nano-optics at DiCon Fiberoptics

Seng Fatt Liew has extensive work experience in the field of optics and photonics. Seng Fatt started their career as a Graduate Student Researcher at Yale University's Department of Applied Physics in 2008. In this role, they focused on the design and characterization of III-V GaAs semiconductor micro-lasers at cryo-temperature, as well as the study of light transmission and absorption in disordered media. Seng Fatt also worked on controlling the photocurrent of photoelectrochemical cells using wavefront shaping techniques.

After completing their graduate studies, Seng Fatt Liew continued their research as a Postdoctoral Associate at Yale University. Here, they developed low-cost, compact, high-resolution, and broadband spectrometers based on multimode fiber and wavelength division multiplexing (WDM). Seng Fatt also worked on developing compact silicon on-chip spectrometers and low spatial coherence light sources for speckle-free imaging.

In 2016, Seng Fatt Liew joined DiCon Fiberoptics, where they initially served as a Photonics Engineer. Seng Fatt later transitioned to the role of Chief Engineer of Nano-Optics.

Seng Fatt Liew pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology from 2005 to 2008. Following their undergraduate studies, they attended Yale University from 2008 to 2014, where they obtained their PhD degree in Applied Physics with a specialization in Optics and Photonics.
