Hiroto Tokusei

Hiroto Tokusei has an extensive work experience history. Hiroto started their career at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, where they served as an Assistant Director and played a key role in guiding the deregulation of 2.4GHz W-LAN systems. Hiroto then joined INCS, Inc., a start-up consulting company, where they managed the R&D division and led various research projects.

In 2005, Tokusei joined Google as a Product Manager in their Tokyo office. Hiroto was responsible for launching several products in Japan, including Book Search, Gmail, Transit, and YouTube. Hiroto later acted as the de-facto General Manager of YouTube Japan, overseeing product, business development, ad sales, and policy.

Tokusei moved to the US headquarters of YouTube in 2008, where they served as a Senior Product Manager. Hiroto developed global features, such as YouTube's Auto-caption feature, which added captions to 1 billion videos by 2017.

After leaving Google, Tokusei co-founded ByFlow Inc., a social commerce start-up, where they served as the Chief Product Officer. Hiroto also worked at Gengo as the Vice President of Product Management, leading product launches and partnership initiatives.

Most recently, Tokusei joined the Digital Agency of the Government of Japan as the Chief Strategy Officer, where they are currently responsible for strategic planning and implementation.

Hiroto Tokusei holds an MS degree in Engineering from Stanford University, an MBA degree in Business from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, and a BS degree in Engineering from The University of Tokyo.
