Paul Medcraft

Paul Medcraft has over 20 years of experience in the technology industry. Paul is currently working at agora - digital capital markets as a Principal Engineer, where they lead the tech team for Agora's fixed income distributed ledger platform. Their responsibilities include using various technologies such as R3 Corda, Kotlin, React, and Docker.

Prior to their current role, Paul worked as a Consultant at agora - digital capital markets, responsible for developing and implementing a module for the platform for digitizing the bond issuance process.

Before joining agora, Paul served as an Owner at Envied Limited, a Technical Consultant at Santander UK, and a Consultant at Barclays Wealth and Investment Management. Paul also held positions at Ipreo, Marketpipe (which was later acquired by Ipreo), Interactive Investor, and General Interactive Ltd.

Throughout their career, Paul has demonstrated expertise in various technologies including Scala, Cats, HTTP4S, Circe, Doobie, Vue, and Java. Paul has extensive experience in backend development, application development, and leading engineering teams.

Paul Medcraft attended Bablake School from 1985 to 1992, where they obtained their high school degree. Following that, from 1993 to 1997, they attended The University of Salford and earned a BSc (Hons) in IT. In addition to their formal education, Paul Medcraft has obtained several certifications, including the Sun Certified Java Programmer from Sun Microsystems in 2000, the Sun Certified Web Component Developer from Sun Microsystems in an unspecified year, and the Functional Programming Principles in Scala from Coursera Course Certificates in May 2016.
