April Williamson

Haiti Project Director at Digital Promise

April Williamson is the Haiti project director at Digital Promise. Prior to joining Digital Promise, she spent six years as a high school math teacher and instructional coach in public schools in Washington, D.C. She has also served as a distinguished modern classrooms educator and expert mentor for the Modern Classrooms Project, focusing on integrating blended learning, mastery-based grading, and self-pacing into the classroom.

Previously, April worked as a project manager and researcher for global health and education projects around the world. She has also served as an environmental health educator with the Peace Corps in Senegal and an AmeriCorps volunteer partnering with public middle schools in Madison, Wis. She holds a bachelor’s degree in art, French, and African studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master’s degree in global affairs from Yale University.
