Lynette Parker

Senior Researcher, Center for Inclusive Innovation at Digital Promise

Dr. Lynette Parker joins Digital Promise’s Center for Inclusive Innovation after a 25-year history as an educator and researcher. She recently completed an Equity and Inclusion in STEM postdoctoral researcher position at Vanderbilt. Dr. Parker began her teaching career in Compton Unified School District and has taught from coast to coast (Los Angeles to New York) in both district and charter schools, gaining experience about the state of education that informs her work as a researcher and evaluator. Dr. Parker has taught in K-12 schools, community college, and at the university level. She has an MS in Applied Statistics and Research Methods from the University of Northern Colorado, an MA in Educational Administration from NYU, and a PhD in Educational Policy from UC Berkeley.

Dr. Parker is committed to improving the experiences of teachers, students, and families in urban communities. She believes that the role of technology in eliminating the achievement gap is crucial, and that addressing the digital divide for parents and students is a key component of equity work in education.
