Shaunelle Curry

Shaunelle Curry's work experience includes founding Media Done Responsibly in 2012, where they served as the CEO. In this role, they expanded the organization's mission and programming, led board recruitment and fundraising efforts, and developed a media education curriculum. Shaunelle also established partnerships with various universities and media outlets, and trained over 4,000 students in media literacy and advocacy.

In 2020, Shaunelle Curry became the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the Digital Wellness Institute. Shaunelle leads a team in developing principles and practices to promote diversity and inclusion within the organization.

Shaunelle Curry has also worked as an Adjunct Professor at California State University-Los Angeles since 2016. Additionally, they served as the Executive Director of the Media Done Responsibly Virtual Film Festival, which aims to provide accessible platforms for diverse storytellers in the film industry.

Following their bachelor's degree, Shaunelle pursued a Master of Arts in Education with a specialization in Elementary Education and Teaching, also at Truman State University, from 1994 to 1997.

In addition to their formal education, Shaunelle has obtained several certifications in various areas. Some of these certifications include "Coro Women in Leadership" from Coro Southern California, obtained in December 2022, and multiple certifications obtained from LinkedIn, including "Confronting Bias: Thriving Across Our Differences," "Leading Your Org on a Journey of Allyship," "Diversity and Inclusion in a Global Enterprise," and "Inclusive Leadership," all obtained in either September or October 2021.
