James Cate

James Cate has worked in the information security field since 1994, beginning their career as a Senior Systems Engineer at Kaiser Permanente IT. James then worked as a Systems Management Expert for Active Directory at Data Base Connection from 2000 to 2007, followed by a similar role at Comtech from 2007 to 2013. From 2013 to 2018, they were a Senior Information Security Engineer and Senior Security Engineer at American Airlines. James then moved to SAIC as a Lead Senior Principal Engineer (PKI) from 2018 to 2021, and is currently employed at NCI Information Systems, Inc. as a Lead Senior Principal Engineer (PKI). James also works at Dignari, LLC as a PKI Engineer, and at Octo as a PR Info Sec Engineer.

James Cate attended Texas State Technical Institute from 1986 to 1988, where they studied Airline Pilot Training. James has obtained multiple certifications from LinkedIn and Microsoft, including a Microsoft Certified Professional in 2012 and 2021, an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA-C02): 6 Auto Scaling and Virtual Network Services in 2021, an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA-C02): 7 Application Deployment in 2021, an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA-C02): 4 Compute Services in 2021, an Azure Active Directory: Basics in 2021, a Microsoft Azure: Active Directory in 2021, and a MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuration in 2011 and 2012.
