Robot Software Engineer - Autonomy at Diligent Robotics

Amr Moussa has worked in a variety of roles within the engineering field. In 2017, they were a Research Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they developed VR visualization software for brain connectome data and engineered high throughput desktop visualization software for microscopy images. In 2019, they were the Lead Software Architect at the Underwater Robotics Club at NCSU, where they developed software for autonomous submarine-like robots and designed new software architecture with a growing team in mind. In 2020, they were a Research Assistant at the ORE Robotics Lab at NCSU, where they developed robust and flexible simulation and testing environments for autonomous robot systems, as well as plugins to the gazebo simulator to run system integration tests on autonomous underwater vehicles. In 2022, they were a Software Engineer Intern at Relay, where they worked on embedded software systems to enable low power localization, maintained and expanded upon a large Android code base to address feature requests and resolve bugs, and extended the Android Open Source Project for new custom hardware. Currently, they are a Robot Software Engineer - Autonomy at Diligent Robotics, starting in 2023.

Amr Moussa has an educational history that includes a Master of Science in Computer Science from North Carolina State University (2022-2023), a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from North Carolina State University (2019-2022), and graduation from East Chapel Hill High School.
