Austen Underhill, EIT has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Austen began their career at Dillon Consulting Limited in 2014 as a Gas Bar Attendant at Canadian Tire Corporation. They then worked at Irving Oil as a Tool Crib Assistant in 2017, where they managed inventory and provided tools to contractors. In the following year, Austen worked as a Production Planning Analyst at Irving Oil, contributing to production planning processes. Austen returned to Dillon Consulting Limited in 2019 as an Engineering Co-op Student, where they designed databases, conducted technical writing, and used statistical computing language for data visualization. They also worked part-time as a Student Engineer, assisting with project work. Austen's most recent role is an Industrial Engineer In Training at Dillon Consulting Limited, starting in 2021. In this role, they work closely with clients on asset management standardization, facility layout optimization, and risk analysis.

Austen Underhill, EIT completed their Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Engineering from Dalhousie University from 2016 to 2021. In addition, they also obtained a Diploma of Engineering from Dalhousie University specializing in Engineering from 2016 to 2018. Austen Underhill, EIT also holds additional certifications including a Standard – CPR / AED / First-Aid Certification Course from St. John Ambulance NS & PEI obtained in October 2022. They also obtained the Engineer-In-Training designation from Engineers Nova Scotia in May 2021.
