Diocese of Grand Rapids
Fr. Thomas J. Cavera serves as a Parochial Vicar for the Diocese of Grand Rapids since July 2016. Prior to this role, Fr. Cavera completed a Master of Divinity at Mundelein Seminary, graduating in May 2016. Earlier career experience includes a position as a Marketing Associate at Sysco from 2000 to 2010. Fr. The Diocese of Grand Rapids was established May 19, 1882 and originally consisted of much of the northern and western parts of the Lower Peninsula. Since 1971 the diocese comprises 11 counties of Western Michigan: Ionia, Kent, Lake, Mason, Mecosta, Montcalm, Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana, Osceola, and Ottawa. The Diocese of Grand Rapids currently serves over 175,000 Catholics, 80 parishes, and 31 schools located within its 11-counties.
