Rob Douglas

Rob Douglas is an accomplished procurement professional with extensive experience in leading teams and managing significant supply chain expenditures across various industries. As Chief Procurement Officer at Direct Line Group since September 2016, Rob oversees a team of 80 and is responsible for delivering performance and value from a supply chain worth £1 billion. Prior roles include Director at Value Chain Limited, where Rob directed strategic sourcing initiatives and led a major programme for the Co-Operative Group, and Head of UK Procurement at National Grid, managing a £2.3 billion spend while achieving substantial savings. Rob's previous experience also includes leadership positions at Currys plc, Barclays Bank PLC, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, and Ford Motor Company, where Rob consistently aligned procurement strategies with business objectives and drove cost savings through effective sourcing. Rob holds a BSc (Hons) in Politics and Economics from The University of Salford.
