Xavier Wackenheim currently serves as the Responsable projet H160 and officier aérien interrégional garde - côtes for the Direction générale des douanes et droits indirects (DGDDI) since September 2019, focusing on aerial operations in the French customs coast guard in the Antilles and Guyane. Prior to this role, Xavier Wackenheim had an extensive career with the Gendarmerie Nationale from July 1997 to September 2017, holding positions such as commandant d'unité aérienne in Fort-de-France, adjoint bureau opérations emploi CFAGN, and serving as both an instructor and helicopter pilot. Xavier Wackenheim received education at the lycée militaire d'Aix en Provence and the école des pupilles de l'air in Grenoble from 1984 to 1988.
