Joe Houston

Joe Houston is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the gaming industry. Currently serving as Engineering Technical Lead at Discord since September 2019, Joe has played a critical role in the development and strategic direction of games on the Discord "Activities" platform. Previously, as a Senior Software Engineer at Bluepoint Games, Joe contributed to internal engine and tool enhancements, and as a contract programmer at Playmaji, Inc., developed the UI system for the Polymega retro gaming console. Joe's career also includes founding Roxlou Games and Panda Mittens Software LLC, as well as key engineering positions at Arkane Studios, Bioware, Midway Games, and Sensory Sweep. Joe holds a BA in English from UC Santa Barbara and an AS in Computer Science from Santa Barbara City College.
