Michael Bishara

Group SVP & GM, Direct-to-Consumer at Warner Bros. Discovery

Michael Bishara is Group Senior Vice President & General Manager, Direct-to-Consumer and Lifestyle Digital Studios. A dynamic and innovative pioneer in the industry, Bishara leads and holds key roles across many of Discovery’s OTT initiatives, including discovery+ in North America, the Lifestyle Digital Studios, the Magnolia app, Food Network Kitchen, Discovery’s slate of TVE GO Apps, VOD, and Download to Own, growing revenue and audiences across the company’s digital portfolio.

Prior to joining Discovery Communications, Bishara served as Senior Vice President, Digital Products & GM, OTT and TV Everywhere for Synacor where he oversaw the company’s portfolio of award-winning digital products, including product development and the day-to-day operations of Synacor’s white-label video and identity management cloud platform. Bishara also previously served as Founder and Managing Member of Sentient Digital Consulting Group, a digital media consulting practice focused on the development of TVE product strategies for the HBO/Disney brands in Canada as well supporting the development and launch of HBO GO Canada. Earlier in his career, he spent over a decade at HBO where he held several roles, including Senior Vice President, HBO GO Digital Group overseeing HBO’s domestic broadband business, products and subscription strategy.

Bishara has an MBA in Marketing Management from the University at Buffalo. He is based in Discovery’s New York office.
