Discovery Place
Megan Jurell currently serves as an Experience Facilitator II in Science and Nature at Discovery Place since July 2023. Prior experience includes working as a Substitute Teacher for Hamilton County ESC from January to May 2023, where responsibilities encompassed classroom management across multiple grade levels and assisting with library operations. Earlier roles include serving at Senior Lifestyle, where Megan catered to residents with special medical needs, and as an Administrative Assistant at Premier EMG, focusing on digitizing patient records. Academic achievements include a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Miami University and enrollment in Xavier University for an Occupational Therapy Doctorate. High school education was completed at Wyoming High School, graduating in 2017.
Discovery Place
Discovery Place is a private 501c(3) not-for-profit education organization dedicated to inspiring exploration of science and the natural world through extraordinary exhibits and educational programs that inform, challenge and engage audiences of all ages. As one of the leading hands-on science centers in the country, Discovery Place offers visitors the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of the basics of science, technology, engineering and mathematics in a fun, interactive and informal setting. Discovery Place, Inc. owns and operates Discovery Place Science, Discovery Place Nature, Discovery Place Kids-Huntersville and Discovery Place Kids-Rockingham. Discovery Place Science in Uptown is home to the Accenture IMAX Dome Theatre.
