Kara Byrnes

Kara Byrnes is a seasoned professional in the field of geology and exploration, currently serving as VP Exploration and Geology at Discovery Silver Corp. since June 2025. Prior to this role, Kara held the position of Exploration Manager for Ontario at Agnico Eagle Mines Limited from June 2022 to June 2025, and served as Superintendent of Exploration at Kirkland Lake Gold from January 2021 to June 2022. Earlier experience includes significant leadership roles at Lake Shore Gold, where responsibilities involved oversight of geological activities and resource management, and as Project Geologist at Benton Resources Inc., where various exploration properties were developed. Kara Byrnes holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) with Honours in Geology/Earth Science from the University of Ottawa, completed in 2007.
