Tom Vandebroek

Tom Vandebroek is a skilled mechanical engineer with extensive experience in research and development, currently serving as a Research Development Mechanical Engineer at Distalmotion since April 2023. Previously, Tom was a PhD researcher at KU Leuven from October 2016 to March 2023, focusing on the design and development of multi-arm robots for single-port access surgery. Earlier in 2016, Tom was a Master Thesis Student at the Technical University of Denmark, where the work involved conceptualizing and developing a novel exoskeleton shoulder mechanism for the AXO-Suit. Tom holds an Engineer’s Degree in Mechanical & Design Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark, a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Mechatronics from the University of Liège, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical & Biomedical Engineering, also from the University of Liège.
