Divyajeet Mahajan

Divyajeet Mahajan is the current Regional Head for Southern Africa at Distributed Power Africa. Prior to this, they served as the General Manager for Airtel Africa Group and the Deputy GM for Airtel Africa Network Group. Divyajeet has also been the Business Head for Airtel Tanzania TowerCo Director.

Mahajan has over 10 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Divyajeet started their career with Bharti Airtel International in 2010 as the Business Head for Airtel Tanzania TowerCo Director. In this role, they were responsible for the daily operations of the company. Divyajeet was promoted to Deputy GM in 2013 and then to General Manager in 2015.

As General Manager, Mahajan was responsible for optimizing, monitoring, and controlling the annual network opex for 17 diverse African countries. Divyajeet also led the contract management post towers’ sale to ATC, IHS, Eaton, and Helios. In addition, they drove energy efficiency and cost reduction initiatives to reduce monthly opex per site.

Under Mahajan’s leadership, the company was able to identify $81 million in network opex opportunities and achieved $63 million in savings for FY15-16.

Divyajeet Mahajan has an APSM in Strategic Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, a PGCPM in General Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Indore, and a BE in Electronics & Telecommunications from the Pravaranagar Rural Education Societys Pravara Rural Engineering college. Divyajeet Mahajan is also certified from LinkedIn in Lead Like a Boss, Motivating and Engaging Employees, Personal Branding on Social Media, Persuading Others, Executive Decision Making, Writing with Impact, Creating a Culture of Service, Coaching for Results, Professional Networking, Creating a Culture of Change, and Developing Executive Presence.

Divyajeet Mahajan reports to Norman Moyo, CEO. Divyajeet Mahajan works with Mariam Limbada - Head, HR, Moncef Mettiji - Regional Head, East & West Africa, and Nigel Mangwiro - CFO.
