Keith D. Birnie

Keith D. Birnie, P.Eng, currently serves as the Manager of Occupational Health at DMC Mining Services since August 2023. With a robust background in health and safety, Keith previously worked as a Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene & Ventilation Specialist at Workplace Safety North from July 2018 to July 2023, supporting clients in meeting Occupational Health and Safety responsibilities while developing industry-specific training and programs. Keith's experience includes multiple roles at Vale, where significant contributions were made to health and safety initiatives, operational efficiency, and production targets across various mining operations. Earlier in their career, Keith held engineering positions at Kinross Gold Corporation, beginning as the Head of Ground Control Department at Macassa Mine. Keith holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering from Queen's University and a Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety from the University of New Brunswick.
