John A. Sweeney

John A. Sweeney is an accomplished educator and expert in futures studies, currently serving as the UNESCO Chair in Futures Studies for Anticipatory Governance and Sustainable Policy at Westminster International University in Tashkent since August 2020. Sweeney has held various roles including Co-Editor of the World Futures Review, Adjunct Faculty at the University of Houston, and Senior Advisor - Futures and Foresight for CMI — Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation. With a background in designing and delivering educational programs for institutions such as Duke Corporate Education and DMS International, Sweeney also contributes as Transformative Foresight Lead at the School of International Futures and engages with UNICEF as a Youth Foresight Expert. Sweeney holds a PhD in Alternative Futures from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, along with an MA in Religion and a BA in History and Philosophy.
