Kurtis Harms has a diverse work experience in various roles related to marketing and communications. Kurtis is currently working as a Marketing Director at both Pillen Family Farms and DNA Swine Genetics since April 2022. Previously, they served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln starting from August 2017.

Before that, Kurtis worked at the Nebraska Corn Board as the Director of Communications from February 2017 to April 2022, where they developed and implemented a clear communications strategy and managed the organization's online presence.

Prior to their role at the Nebraska Corn Board, Kurtis held multiple positions at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, including Executive Producer of the Market Journal Television Program from January 2010 to February 2017. Kurtis also served as the Host of the Nebraska Ag Almanac Radio Program from December 2008 to February 2017, conducting interviews and producing weekly radio features. Additionally, they worked as an Assistant Professor of Practice at the UNL Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communication from April 2010 to May 2015, and as a Web Multimedia Editor from December 2008 to January 2010.

Kurtis Harms pursued their education at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Agricultural Journalism from 2003 to 2007. Kurtis furthered their education at the same institution and earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs from 2007 to 2008.
