Roope Tanner

Roope Tanner has extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry. Roope currently holds the position of Head of Department, Network Analytics at DNA Oyj, where they lead a team responsible for developing and operating network analytics solutions. Their department handles tasks such as network signalling monitoring and visualization, network counter statistics analysis and reporting, CDR collection and fraud reporting, and subscriber level analysis and insights. Prior to this, Roope worked as a Development Manager at DNA Oyj, where they served as a SAFe Product Manager and focused on automating fixed access networks. In this role, they managed the backlog of six agile teams and collaborated with stakeholders to collect business requirements and develop IT systems and network assets.

Before joining DNA Oyj, Roope worked at Telia as a Network Architect, where they focused on transport networks, network orchestration, transport SDN, and network virtualization. Roope was responsible for long-term planning, including procurement activities and architecture guidelines. Prior to Telia, Roope worked as a Network Engineer at Ukkoverkot Oy and as a Broadcast Supervisor and Technical Support Specialist at Digita. In these roles, they handled tasks such as monitoring broadcasts, providing technical support, and training junior employees.

Earlier in their career, Roope worked as a Sales Representative at Stockmann, where they sold a variety of electronics products and handled tasks such as consumer sales, troubleshooting, and training. Roope's diverse work experience has equipped him with a strong understanding of telecommunications and network analytics.

Roope Tanner holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Aalto University, which they obtained from 2014 to 2016. Prior to that, from 2010 to 2014, they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in the same field at Aalto University. Before their university studies, Roope earned a Matriculation Examination from The Viikki Teacher Training School, University of Helsinki, between 2007 and 2009. In addition to their academic qualifications, Roope has obtained certifications including SAFe 5 Product Owner/Product Manager from Scaled Agile, Inc. in October 2021, SAFe Agilist 5 Certification from Scaled Agile, Inc. in February 2020, and MEF-SDCP SD-WAN Certified Professional from MEF Forum in November 2019.
