Sean McCusker

Sean McCusker has a diverse work experience in mechanical engineering and project management. Sean currently holds the position of Associate Director Engineering at DNA Script since September 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Principal Mechanical Engineer at DNA Script from June 2021 to October 2022.

Before joining DNA Script, Sean worked at Paramit Corporation as a Staff Mechanical Engineer from April 2020 to May 2021, where they served as an advisor and engineer on multiple customer projects. Sean led concept development and defined system-level architecture for DNA synthesis projects.

Sean also worked as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Ultima Genomics from March 2017 to January 2019, and as a Design Engineer at 10X Genomics from 2016 to 2017. At both companies, they were involved in developing and implementing various subsystems for advanced instrumentation.

Sean's earlier work experience includes roles as an Engineering Lead at IsoPlexis from July 2014 to July 2016, where they developed product vision and managed external consultants for advancing internal systems. Sean also worked at Thermo Fisher Scientific (Life Technologies) as an Engineer II, Engineer I, and Scientist I from 2010 to 2014, supporting the development and launch of the Ion Chef sample preparation instrument.

Additionally, Sean has gained experience in project management as a Project Engineer at GE Aviation and as a Help Desk Coordinator at L3 Communications (Titan Group). Sean also worked as an Applications Engineer at CSM Instruments, where they conducted customer testing and demonstrations.

Prior to their professional career, Sean interned at GT Solar in World Services. Overall, Sean McCusker has demonstrated expertise in mechanical engineering, project management, and product development across various industries.

Sean McCusker attended Yale University from 2006 to 2010, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
