Jeff Silver is the current Commercial Manager at DOC Cleaning. Prior to this, they worked as a Contract Manager at Emprise Services from June 2006 to December 2016. There, they managed a £1m+ prestigious contract for multi-site cleaning and soft services, overseeing a team of 50 staff. Jeff was responsible for building relationships and managing contracts between the clients, company, and its suppliers, while also being the primary contact for the treatment of all contractual issues.

During their time at Emprise Services, Jeff successfully delivered a tender for the retention of The British Library cleaning and soft services contract in 2016 and 2008 for a further 5 years, worth over £1 million per annum. Jeff also presented The British Library with innovative proposals in 2013 and 2014, leading to an additional contract agreement through to March 2016. Furthermore, they successfully managed the transition of the contract following 25% governmental budget cuts, resulting in cost savings of £0.3m per annum without losing service quality or giving the client any reason to doubt the extension of the contract in 2013 for a further 2 years. Additionally, they project managed the implementing of a recycling and waste management project for The British Library, which resulted in a 40% increase of recyclable waste since September 2007 and 25% reduction in overall waste since 2009. Jeff also oversaw the smooth changeover of night cleaning operations to daytime housekeepers and cleaning at The British Library, resulting in cost-savings for the business and improved quality for the client.

In addition to their work with The British Library, Jeff also played a role in mobilising multi-million pound contracts for Marks & Spencer and Royal College of GP’s, alongside providing regular operational support. Jeff was also responsible for establishing and developing innovative ideas such as local community groups for re-use of disposal items, recycling bins for chewing gum, and robot vacuums. Lastly, they designed improved electronic auditing processes for The British Library, The Royal Albert Hall, MTV Studios and The Colchester Institute, providing contract managers with better management resources and clients with a better understanding of real-time cleanliness standards.

Jeff Silver has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Hospitality Management from Birmingham City University. Jeff also has certification from the IEMA in Foundation Certificate in Environmental Management and from the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management in Level 4 Certificate in Facilities Management.
