Joel Meyer has a diverse work experience spanning multiple sectors. Joel is currently the President of Public Sector at Domino Data Lab, a venture-backed AI company that provides an open platform for enterprise-scale data science, machine learning, and AI research. Prior to this role, they served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Strategic Initiatives at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, leading the Office of Strategic Integration and Policy Planning and playing a key role in producing the Department's first Quadrennial Homeland Security Review in nine years. Joel has also held positions as Senior Counselor to the Under Secretary for Policy and Chief of Staff in the Office of Strategy, Policy, and Plans at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Other notable roles include serving as Policy POC for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Agency Review Team during the Biden-Harris Transition, and as an Instructor at The Johns Hopkins University. Joel has also held leadership positions at Predata and Dataminr, where they served as Vice President of Sales and Senior Vice President, Public Sector, respectively. Joel has government experience as Director for Partnerships at the National Security Council and as Senior Advisor to the Counterterrorism Coordinator at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Joel started their career as an Associate at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP and as a Program Assistant at the Council on Foreign Relations.

Joel Meyer received a Bachelor's degree in International Studies and Economics from The Johns Hopkins University in 2004. Joel then pursued a legal education and obtained a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from American University Washington College of Law in 2008. In terms of additional certifications, Joel became an inactive member of The District of Columbia Bar in 2009 and The State Bar of California in 2008.
