Erica Farrand, MD, is a distinguished pulmonologist and clinical researcher currently serving as Co-Director of the UCSF Interstitial Lung Disease Program at the University of California, San Francisco since July 2020. In addition to this role, Erica is a Clinical Scientist Development Award recipient from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and holds a research fellowship from the Parker B. Francis Foundation, both started in 2022. As an Assistant Professor at UCSF Medical Center since July 2015, Erica has previously completed a pulmonary and critical care fellowship at New York-Presbyterian Hospital and has held clinical instructor roles at both New York-Presbyterian and Columbia University Medical Center. Erica's early career included legislative roles in the United States Senate, alongside completing a Doctor of Medicine degree at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and a Bachelor's degree in Human Biology from the University of Virginia.
