Latoya Doby-Holmes

LaToya Doby-Holmes has extensive work experience in various educational positions. LaToya currently serves as the Executive Director of Strategic Data and Research at the Douglas County School System since 2023. Previously, they worked at the Richmond County School System as the Director of Professional Learning from 2015 to 2023. In this role, they provided leadership for employee orientation, induction, and professional learning. LaToya also monitored and assisted with school improvement plans.

Prior to that, LaToya worked at the Georgia Department of Education as a Program Evaluation Specialist from 2013 to 2015. Their responsibilities included supporting the implementation of teacher and leader evaluation tools and providing professional learning and training on the evaluation tools.

Before their time at the Georgia Department of Education, LaToya worked at the DeKalb County School District. LaToya served as a Professional Learning Coach from 2005 to 2013, where they planned and delivered course instruction and incorporated diverse teaching strategies. Prior to that, they worked as a Teacher from 1999 to 2005, developing lesson plans and providing additional assistance to students.

LaToya also has experience outside of the education field. LaToya worked as an Operations Manager at both OfficeMax from 1997 to 1999 and Best Buy from 1994 to 1997.

LaToya Doby-Holmes has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Carolina Aiken, which they obtained from 1991 to 1994. LaToya went on to pursue further studies and obtained a Master of Education and Specialist degree in Instructional Education and School Administration from Central Michigan University, completing their studies from 2003 to 2006. Finally, they pursued their Educational Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from Georgia Southern University, completing their studies from 2009 to 2011.
