Bryan Berthy

Bryan Berthy is the Chief Operating Officer for Flight Transformation Technologies Corporation (FlightX) the makers of a revolutionary EVTOL vehicle under contract to the US Air Force AFWERX Agility Prime program. Bryan has more than 30 years’ experience leading technology and engineering development organizations. In addition to his role at FlightX, Bryan is President of BB Aerospace, a technology consulting firm that specialized in strategy, commercialization, and large-scale technology projects. He has been in the early stages of numerous key technology areas during his career including night vision, lasers, Internet, nanotechnology, advanced materials, cyber-physical systems, and many aerospace products. He has also successfully managed technology development programs of all sizes from small prototypes and research to a $7B international aircraft program.

Mr. Berthy was previously a strategic advisor to several Fortune 100 technology firms and on the Board of Directors and Advisor to the CEO of several startup and mid-size technology companies. For the 15 years prior to his consulting role, Mr. Berthy held numerous executive leadership roles with Lockheed Martin Aeronautics including, Director of Mission Systems, Avionics & Weapons, Director of Cybersecurity Engineering, and Deputy Director of the F-16 Block 60 program.

In his roles as Engineering Director, Mr. Berthy led numerous startup and turnaround activities across all programs and all Aeronautics sites. He also led Aeronautics corporate research planning aligning advanced technology research for the entire Lockheed Martin corporation. He was a member of the Intellectual Property Review Board and developed intellectual property strategies.

Prior to Lockheed Martin, Mr. Berthy was President and CEO of RIVA Technologies, a software development and simulation systems company which developed large scale web database systems for Fortune 500 Publishing clients and visual simulation systems for defense contractors, NASA, and the FAA. The simulation business of RIVA Technologies was sold to Zedasoft in 2002.

Early in his career, Mr. Berthy led various research and development programs for advanced infrared and laser systems. He led early infrared systems development on the Advanced Fighter Technology Integration (AFTI) F-16 that was instrumental in understanding helmet mounted display technology on fighter aircraft. He was also research lead and principal investigator on the research that created the EODAS 360-degree infrared vision system currently in production on the F-35.
