Reed Berger MD, PNS, DABOM has a diverse work experience in the medical field. In 2000, they started as an Internal Medicine Resident at Lutheran General Hospital, where they gained invaluable knowledge and skills. Reed then joined the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2003, where they held multiple roles as an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine and Surgery. During this time, they also served as a Bariatrician, Physician Nutrition Specialist, and Internal Medicine Physician at the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences. As the Medical Director of the Nutrition and Wellness Center, they specialized in overseeing the nutritional needs of preoperative and postoperative bariatric surgery patients. Reed Berger's expertise extended to medical weight loss programs and the use of prescription anti-obesity medications in appropriate cases. Recently, they have been associated with Doximity, working as a Digital Health Fellow and a Telehealth Fellow.

Reed Berger MD, PNS, DABOM completed their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree at the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin U-Med & Science from 1996 to 2000. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Dietetics and Clinical Nutrition Services from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, graduating in 1996.

In terms of additional certifications, Reed Berger MD, PNS, DABOM obtained the certification of American Board of Obesity Medicine in April 2021, Diplomate of Obesity Medicine in March 2021, and Physician Nutrition Specialist in January 2021. Reed also obtained the certification of American Board of Physician Nutrition Specialist in January 2005.
