Michael Netter

Senior Security Researcher at DRACOON

Michael Netter has over 10 years of work experience. From 2008 to 2014, they were a PhD Student and Forscher (Postdoktorand) at the Universität Regensburg. During this time, they published 23 peer-reviewed articles on privacy and (social) identity management and founded and led the development of "Friend Inspector", a serious game to enhance privacy awareness in social networks. From 2014 to 2016, they were a Product Manager at Nexis GmbH. From 2016 to 2017, they were the Director of Engineering at DRACOON GmbH, where they were responsible for all of Dracoon's development teams. During this time, they restructured the department from technology-focused teams to feature teams with e2e responsibility and helped to position technical teams for a cloud-only future. Michael also helped to grow the development team from 5 to 25+ people by insourcing all software engineering teams and defined and managed the development of new product components. Additionally, they introduced Scrum across all teams. From 2017 to present, they have served as an Expert Evaluator for the European Commission's H2020 program.

Michael Netter obtained a Doctoral Degree (Dr. rer. pol.) in Business Information Systems from the University of Regensburg in 2013, following their Diploma in Business Information Systems from the same university in 2008.
