John Guptill

Principal Reverse Engineer at Dragos

John Guptill has extensive work experience in the field of cyber warfare and software engineering. Their most recent position was as a Principal Reverse Engineer at Dragos, Inc. since July 2019. Prior to that, they served as a Cyber Warfare Officer in the US Air Force Reserve from July 2019 to December 2021. John also had various roles in the United States Air Force, including Cyber Warfare Operations Officer, Instructor Lead, and Tech Director/Software Engineer. John Guptill has a strong background in cyberspace operations, software engineering, and malware analysis.

John Guptill has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Portland, which they obtained from 2002 to 2009. John also completed an Advanced Course in Engineering Cyberspace Security (ACE) in Cyber Security from Syracuse University in 2007-2008.

Later, from 2011 to 2013, John pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Cyberspace Operations from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology. In terms of certifications, they obtained the GCFA certification from GIAC Certifications in March 2018 and the Security+ certification from CompTIA in 2009.
