Penny Small has an extensive work experience spanning over several decades. Penny has held various leadership positions in prominent energy companies. Their most recent role was as the Group Generation Director at Drax Group, where they have been working since 2018. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Transformation Officer at Drax Group from 2018 to 2021. Before joining Drax Group, they worked at ENGIE as the Director of Asset Optimisation & Digital from 2016 to 2018. From 2011 to 2015, Penny was the EVP, Strategy and Communications at International Power GDF Suez. Penny also held the position of Director of Global Resources at INTERNATIONAL POWER LTD. from 2003 to 2011. Penny started their career in 1987 at BP, where they worked as a Financial Analyst and later as a Commercial Analyst. Throughout their career, they have gained extensive experience in business development, strategy, communications, and asset management in the energy sector.

Penny Small completed their Master of Arts degree in Mathematics at the University of Oxford from 1984 to 1987.
